The inclusion of these companies has led to a significant increase in their stock prices, with Palantir's shares rising by 7.2% in after-hours trading and up over $2 in AH. This change is part of a broader rebalancing of the S&P 500, which will see American Airlines Group (AAL), Etsy (ETSY), and Bio-Rad Laboratories (BIO) removed from the index. The changes will take effect before the markets open on September 6, 2024. Peter Thiel's Palantir is now valued at $33 a share.
