India's market regulator has discovered a significant financial irregularity in the accounts of Zee Entertainment, amounting to more than $241 million. This revelation comes at a challenging time for the media company, as it seeks to revive a ₹ 83,000 Crore ($10 billion) merger with Sony's local unit. The merger had previously collapsed, adding to the company's troubles. Concurrently, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is investigating overseas transactions by Paytm Payments Bank, a unit of One 97 Communications, known as Paytm, although the ED has not yet found any forex breaches.
