
Safaricom PLC reported its FY 2023/2024 financial results with notable increases across several key financial metrics. The company's service revenues rose by 11.7% to KES 329.8 billion, while net income increased by 13.7% to KES 84.7 billion. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) grew by 20.4% to KES 139.9 billion, and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) increased by 16.6% to KES 187 billion. Operating cash flows also saw an 11.2% rise, reaching KES 128.6 billion. Despite these gains, the company's performance was impacted by losses from its Ethiopian unit, leading to lower than expected annual profits. The total dividend payout remained unchanged from the previous year, with a final dividend of KES 0.65 per share and an interim dividend of KES 0.55 per share, totaling KES 1.2 per share.
