Scale AI, a San Francisco-based artificial intelligence firm valued at nearly $14 billion, has laid off approximately 1,300 workers. The layoffs, which affected a significant number of contract workers, were communicated via email without prior warning. Former contractors reported that more than 1,000 workers were let go at the unicorn AI startup.
