Jody Hall, a 68-year-old Texas adoption attorney and owner of Adoptions International, Inc., has been charged with attempting to sell and purchase unborn children. Hall is accused of paying pregnant inmates at the Tarrant County Jail to place their babies in her adoption agency. Law enforcement officials have described these actions as 'unethical adoption practices.' Investigators found incriminating text messages showing pressure on inmates to sell their unborn babies. In one instance, Hall allegedly threatened an inmate who refused to sell her baby after receiving a payment of $846. At least two women inmates at the Tarrant County Jail were reportedly given hundreds of dollars and promised more to participate in this illegal scheme.
