A divided U.S. appeals court upheld the right of Ohio's Olentangy Local School District to enforce policies against the bullying and misgendering of transgender students. The 6th Circuit Court, in a 2-1 decision, ruled that the school district did not violate students’ free speech rights under the First Amendment by implementing these policies. The decision rejects an effort by a conservative parents group to block the enforcement of the anti-bullying policies.
