The futures price fell by $0.05 (2%) from $2.90 to $2.85 for the week ending October 4, and saw a further decrease of $0.12 (4%) on Friday after failing to reach the $3.00 resistance threshold. On October 7, U.S. natural gas futures extended losses, with prices down by 5%. Concurrently, U.S. stock markets also faced declines. The NASDAQ 100 futures dropped to a session low of 0.5%, while the S&P 500 opened 0.2% lower and the NASDAQ fell by 0.3%. The S&P 500 was down 14.08 points, or 0.24 percent, at 5,736.99 after market open. By the end of the day, the Dow Jones was down 1.01%, the S&P 500 fell by 1.03%, and the NASDAQ 100 extended its decline to 1.2%.
