Oil prices advanced for a second straight session on Monday, with both global benchmarks settling at multi-week highs. West Texas Intermediate crude for October delivery gained $1.14, or 1.79%, to close at $64.80 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, after touching an intraday peak of $65.10—the highest since 7 August. Brent crude for October settlement rose $1.07, or 1.58%, to $68.80 a barrel after briefly trading above $69 earlier in the day. The gains pushed Brent back toward the $70 threshold and lifted WTI above its 100-day moving average, signalling improved near-term momentum for buyers.
