Arizona’s Basis charter-school network strengthened its reputation for academic excellence after U.S. News & World Report named Basis Tucson North the best high school in the United States in its 2025-26 rankings released this week. The honor marks the second consecutive year an Arizona campus has led the list, following Basis Peoria’s first-place finish in 2024-25. Basis schools claimed nine of the nation’s Top 100 spots. In addition to Tucson North, Basis Phoenix placed No. 17, while campuses in Chandler, Flagstaff, Oro Valley, Mesa, Scottsdale, Peoria and Ahwatukee all landed between Nos. 28 and 68. The charter network was the only Arizona system represented among the country’s 100 highest-rated high schools, underscoring its consistent performance on metrics such as college readiness, state test scores and underserved student achievement.
