Currently @DavidLowe4Texas is explaining why he is neutral on House Bill 7, warning that Texas lawmakers are failing to advance legislation to actually abolish abortion. https://t.co/fKcYGQk3QS
As debate on House Bill 7 starts, @leachfortexas says that the legislation "ensures that women cannot be sued for receiving or obtaining abortion pills." https://t.co/VBbcsnoCfp
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has opened an investigation into the Plano Independent School District after receiving complaints that students were exposed to material perceived as antisemitic and biased in favor of Palestinian positions. In a letter to district officials, Paxton warned administrators to address the allegations promptly and curb any discriminatory conduct before the upcoming second anniversary of the 2023 Gaza terror attacks. The probe will examine whether the district violated state or federal civil-rights protections by allowing the distribution or promotion of the contested content. Paxton said his office would review instructional materials, teacher communications and any related incidents reported by parents or students. Plano ISD, which serves roughly 47,000 students in the Dallas-area suburb, had not publicly responded to the inquiry as of late Thursday.
