

























Container freight futures experienced volatility, concluding with a mild increase of 1-2% across the curve, despite a 5% decline in April futures. The Capesize index rose to 15,074 points, reflecting an increase of 2,028 points, with March and April forward freight agreements (FFAs) showing strong movements, up 1,800 and 1,300 points, respectively. In the tanker market, spot rates for Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) reached $41,000, while Suezmax and Aframax rates were $30,000 and $27,000, respectively. However, some segments showed declines, with tankers overall down by 1%. In Europe, shipping markets were mixed, with dry bulk remaining stable while tankers and containers saw slight decreases. The Baltic Dry Index also reported a 6.04% increase, reaching 1,229 points, indicating ongoing strength in the dry bulk sector. Notably, containerized freight rates in China fell, with the China Containerized Freight Index down 5.2% week-over-week.
