UniCredit's CEO Andrea Orcel has expressed a more cautious outlook regarding potential mergers and acquisitions within the European banking sector, particularly concerning an all-out takeover of Commerzbank. Orcel indicated that the decision on such a move might take years, highlighting the need for patience. Additionally, he noted that UniCredit has not ruled out a renewed bid for Banco BPM. The German financial regulator has set a deadline for April for any initial approval regarding a merger between UniCredit and Commerzbank.
