Forbes has released its tenth annual Fintech 50 list for 2025, highlighting the most innovative private financial technology companies. Despite a decline in global venture capital funding for fintechs, which fell to $34 billion in 2024 from $42 billion in 2023, many startups have thrived, particularly those serving businesses. Categories such as payments, business-to-business banking, and Wall Street and enterprise collectively accounted for 31 of the 50 companies on the list. Notable newcomers include Parafin, a small business lender that doubled its revenue to $75 million in 2024, and DataVisor, a fraud prevention firm that grew its revenue by 67% to $50 million. DailyPay, which serves over five million employees, also made its debut. Companies like Stripe and Plaid have remained on the list for all ten years. The list also underscores the increasing profitability of fintechs, with 13 companies reporting profits in 2024, up from eight in the previous year. Female leadership is also on the rise, with eight companies led by women CEOs making the list, the highest representation in its history. Additionally, the list features innovative solutions in personal finance, such as True Link Financial, which offers financial tools for individuals with cognitive challenges and reported $30 million in revenue in 2024. Blockchain firms like Fireblocks, which has facilitated $6 trillion in transactions, and Securitize, managing $640 million in tokenized assets, are also represented. The fintech landscape continues to evolve, with 18 newcomers adapting to constrained funding environments while driving innovation across various sectors, including real estate, insurance, and blockchain.
Even as venture capital funding for the industry continued to fall in 2024, many fintechs–especially those serving other businesses—flourished. Here’s the Forbes #Fintech50 for 2025. (Illustration by Óscar Raña for Forbes) https://t.co/1lxu5UPUP5 https://t.co/mToN5cR3Tk
