Intercontinental Exchange Inc., the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, has joined forces with blockchain-oracle provider Chainlink to publish real-time foreign-exchange and precious-metals prices directly on public blockchains. ICE will supply data from its Consolidated Feed—covering more than 300 global venues—to Chainlink Data Streams, enabling decentralised applications to access institutional-grade market benchmarks without relying on off-chain intermediaries. The pricing feeds will be available to more than 2,000 on-chain applications, banks and asset managers that already tap Chainlink’s infrastructure for automated settlement and tokenised-asset products. ICE Vice-President Maurisa Baumann said the tie-up extends the reliability of traditional market data to blockchain venues, while Chainlink Labs President Fernando Vazquez called the move "a pivotal shift toward a unified, globally accessible on-chain financial system" capable of supporting what consultancy estimates value as a US$30 trillion tokenisation opportunity. The partnership lands as Chainlink deepens its economic model. Last week the company introduced the Chainlink Reserve, an on-chain treasury that converts enterprise and protocol fees into LINK tokens to fund future network incentives. Separately, Chainlink said its oracle networks now secure more than US$93 billion in value across 450-plus decentralised-finance protocols—about 83 % of Ethereum-based DeFi and nearly all activity on Coinbase’s Base network—underscoring growing institutional demand for verifiable market data.
