Florida authorities are investigating three unrelated crashes that left cyclists dead in separate parts of the state within roughly 24 hours. In Seminole County, the Florida Highway Patrol said a bicyclist was riding north in a marked lane on U.S. Highway 17-92 when a vehicle entered from State Road 414, veered into the outside lane and struck the rider. The motorist fled north in what troopers believe is a white BMW SUV with significant front-end damage. The cyclist died at the scene, and investigators are asking the public for information. Approximately an hour later, a 71-year-old man from Titusville was killed while riding an electric bicycle on US-1 north of Kings Highway in Brevard County. Troopers said a 36-year-old man driving a 2016 Honda Accord did not see the unlit e-bike before hitting it from behind. The driver remained at the scene and was not injured; the case remains open. Separately in Miami, police said 54-year-old Fabian Moses died after a juvenile operating an electric dirt bike struck him on the Rickenbacker Causeway on Friday night. The juvenile was taken to hospital with facial injuries, and no charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
