Une relance de la fusion entre TF1 et M6? https://t.co/OYVRnLBvLr
Bertelsmann, the German media conglomerate and owner of the French television network M6, is seeking to revive a previously abandoned merger project with TF1, another major French broadcaster. The proposed deal, valued at approximately $4.1 billion, was initially dropped about two and a half years ago. Bertelsmann CEO Thomas Rabe has expressed intentions to revisit the merger within the next two to three years, contingent on a more favorable regulatory environment, particularly from European Union authorities. The merger aims to consolidate the two French networks, but regulatory hurdles have been a significant obstacle. Meanwhile, in a related development, a Paris appeals court has challenged the French financial markets authority (AMF) regarding the conditions of Vivendi's corporate breakup. The court ruled in favor of minority investors and acknowledged that billionaire Vincent Bolloré exerted de facto control over Vivendi during its split, prompting the AMF to reassess the situation.
