Four bodies were discovered in the Seine River at Choisy-le-Roi, located in the Val-de-Marne department near Paris, on August 13, 2025. The bodies were found floating and recovered by the Brigade fluviale following a report from a user of the RER C train line. Authorities have opened an investigation into the incident. Autopsy results revealed that three of the victims died of natural causes, while the fourth died as a result of strangulation. Consequently, an inquiry for voluntary homicide has been launched concerning the strangulation case. At this stage, investigators have found no apparent links between the four victims. The condition of the bodies was described as very degraded, complicating the investigation. Local residents remain shocked by the discovery.
