Paul Pogba was presented by AS Monaco on Thursday, completing a two-year deal that brings him back to French club football for the first time in his senior career. The 32-year-old midfielder has managed only 12 appearances over the past three seasons because of injuries, an 18-month doping suspension that ended in March, and an extortion case in which he was the victim. Speaking at the unveiling, the 2018 World Cup winner called a return to the French national team “a dream and a bonus,” noting he is at “stage one” of the process and must first perform consistently for Monaco. Pogba, who has 91 caps, said he had spoken with coach Didier Deschamps and recognises that earning a recall will depend on his form as France builds toward the 2026 World Cup.
