Former France rugby international Richard Dourthe plans to file a complaint for “dénonciation calomnieuse” against influencer Charline Pradeau, his lawyer said on 27 August. The move follows Pradeau’s allegation that Dourthe lifted her skirt in a bar during the Fêtes de Dax, prompting her to lodge a complaint for “outrage sexiste” two days earlier. A video posted by Pradeau on 17 August appears to show a man she identifies as Dourthe raising her skirt while she dances on a table. Dourthe, 50, acknowledges touching the garment and says he apologised immediately, but argues the clip has been edited to misrepresent events and fuel an online “campaign” against him. The Dax prosecutor’s office has opened an inquiry into the alleged sexist outrage. Dourthe’s legal team contends the influencer’s accusations are unfounded and damaging to his reputation, saying they will present evidence to investigators. Pradeau has not yet responded publicly to the counter-complaint.
