The scam involves deepfake videos of Musk promoting fraudulent cryptocurrency schemes during supposed live streams of significant events, such as Tesla's 10/10 Robo taxi launch and SpaceX's Starship 5 speech. The videos employ high-quality voice cloning and lip-syncing techniques to deceive viewers. Reports indicate that tens of thousands of viewers have been affected by the crypto scam, with one stream attracting 50,000 live viewers.
