
Indian police have arrested a key suspect, SK Masud Alam, in connection with the $234 million cyberattack on the cryptocurrency exchange WazirX. The cyberattack, which occurred in July, targeted WazirX's multi-signature wallets. Alam, hailing from Bengal, allegedly created a fake WazirX account under an alias and sold it through Telegram, enabling the perpetrators to access the exchange illegally. The arrest follows a nationwide investigation by Delhi Police's Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO).
