Pfizer said its experimental antibody therapy inclacumab did not meet the primary endpoint in the Phase 3 Thrive-131 trial in patients with sickle cell disease, according to a notice posted on the company’s website and reports by CNBC on 15 August. The late-stage study was designed to determine whether inclacumab could reduce vaso-occlusive crises, a painful and potentially life-threatening complication of the inherited blood disorder. Pfizer said it is reviewing the full dataset to decide on next steps for the programme.
