Royal Philips N.V. said it will invest more than $150 million to expand manufacturing and research capacity in the United States, strengthening production of its artificial-intelligence–driven health-technology products. The Dutch company plans to enlarge its existing site in Pennsylvania and add related R&D capabilities, bringing additional advanced-manufacturing work on imaging and patient-monitoring systems closer to its U.S. hospital customers. The U.S. Commerce Department welcomed the commitment, calling it an example of renewed domestic investment in critical medical-device supply chains. Philips did not disclose a job-creation target but said the project is designed to accelerate time-to-market for new AI health innovations and to bolster the company’s ability to meet domestic demand.
"Philips is investing more than $150 million toward U.S. manufacturing and research and development with the goal of expanding the production of AI-powered health technology innovations."
