The Hong Kong Observatory downgraded a red rainstorm signal issued at 1:15 a.m. to amber at 6:05 a.m. before cancelling the alert entirely at 7:20 a.m. The brief but severe showers prompted the Education Bureau at 5:30 a.m. to activate contingency plans, instructing schools to keep arriving students indoors until conditions were safe for dismissal. Public transport and other municipal services continued to operate, though authorities cautioned that flooding remained possible in low-lying or poorly drained districts.
