Hong Kong is set to adopt a local version of ChatGPT, known as the 'civil servant document assistance system,' within its government departments this year. This initiative is seen as a response to OpenAI's restrictions, which have motivated the development of alternative AI tools in the region. Industry observers believe this move highlights the growing trend of localized AI solutions in response to global AI policy changes. The local ChatGPT-style tool is currently being tested, and further measures are being taken to block access and ensure it meets the specific needs of Hong Kong's administrative processes.
