
In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, authorities in India and the United States have made substantial drug seizures. In India, police conducted raids in Delhi and Pune, uncovering a massive haul of the banned drug Mephedrone (MD), commonly known as 'Meow Meow'. The operation led to the seizure of 1,100 kilograms of MD, initially estimated at ₹2,500 crore but later reported to have a market value of between ₹3,000 to ₹3,500 crore, eventually totaling ₹3,700 Crore. Pune City Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar highlighted the recovery of approximately 720 kg of MD in Pune and around 970 kg in Delhi. In a related development, a courier firm in Delhi is under investigation for its alleged role in the drug distribution network. Meanwhile, in the United States, law enforcement agencies reported significant drug recoveries. The Prince George's County Police Department's Gang Unit and Narcotics Enforcement Division recovered approximately 30 kilos of cocaine in Langley Park, valued at over three million dollars. Additionally, operations in West Texas and Tacoma led to the seizure of 29 kilograms of methamphetamine, 721 grams of cocaine, 1370 grams of fentanyl, 87,000 fentanyl pills, and a significant number of firearms.
