Amazon India head Manish Tiwary has resigned after an 8.5-year tenure with the company. His departure comes amid intensifying competition in the Indian e-commerce market, particularly from quick commerce startups and Flipkart. Amazon India's losses widened by 33% to more than Rs4000 cr in FY23. Tiwary will remain with Amazon until October to ensure a smooth transition. The company has not announced a replacement, but Amit Agarwal, Senior Vice President for India and emerging markets, will oversee the operations. Tiwary joined Amazon from Hindustan Unilever in 2016 and has decided to pursue opportunities outside the company.

In a significant shake-up for Amazon’s leadership, its head of India operations has resigned. Manish Tiwary is exiting the e-commerce giant after eight years, and no successor has been named by Amazon so far. Read more about it in our news brief: https://t.co/zhH8s68u8S
