The Bombay High Court has directed the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to deposit Rs 1,169 crore into the account of Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL), a subsidiary of Reliance Infrastructure. This order follows an arbitration award in favor of MMOPL. The funds are intended to be used for reducing the debt of Mumbai Metro One. This ruling marks a notable legal victory for Reliance Infrastructure, led by Anil Ambani. Separately, the Bombay High Court has also ordered the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to pay Rs 50 lakh to the families of victims of a 2015 hotel fire.
