The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has named Deepika Padukone to the Hollywood Walk of Fame’s Class of 2026, making her the first Indian actress slated to receive a star on the landmark Los Angeles sidewalk. The selection was announced during a livestream on 2 July, with Padukone chosen in the Motion Pictures category from hundreds of global nominations reviewed by the chamber’s selection committee. Padukone joins a 35-member cohort that includes actors Emily Blunt, Timothée Chalamet, Demi Moore, Rachel McAdams, Rami Malek and Stanley Tucci. Inductees span film, television, music, theatre and sports entertainment, and will schedule their individual star ceremonies over the next two years. The recognition adds to Padukone’s growing international profile, which already includes a Hollywood debut opposite Vin Diesel in 2017’s “xXx: Return of Xander Cage” and brand ambassadorships with Louis Vuitton and Cartier. Her forthcoming film projects include a science-fiction feature directed by Atlee and a role in Shah Rukh Khan’s planned thriller “King.”
