The Delhi High Court has quashed a Rs 1,981 crore arbitral award against NTPC, deeming it "patently illegal and perverse." The case stemmed from a dispute involving Jindal ITF, which had challenged NTPC’s termination of a tripartite agreement due to delays in coal transportation infrastructure. The court's ruling overturns the previous award and supports NTPC's position in the matter. In a separate case, the Lokayukta Special Court in Bhopal has ordered the detention of former RTO constable Saurabh Sharma and his associates Chetan Singh and Sharad Jaiswal until February 17, as they face investigation by the agency. The court did not grant a remand request from the Lokayukta police for further questioning during this period.
