
During the trading session on October 28, 2024, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) recorded a net sell of ₹3,036.75 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) posted a net buy of ₹4,159.29 crore in equities, according to provisional data. On the same day, another report indicated that FIIs had a net sell of ₹3,228.08 crore, while DIIs had a net buy of ₹1,400.85 crore. Notably, DIIs have achieved a record investment of ₹4.6 trillion in Indian equities during Samvat 2080, marking the highest annual net investment in any Samvat. This substantial inflow has offset the net investment of ₹90,956 crore from foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) during the same period. The Nifty 50 and Sensex indices are on track for their best performance in three years, driven by strong contributions from sectors such as information technology, automotive, and pharmaceuticals.
