
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken significant action in multiple corruption cases across West Bengal, leading to the provisional attachment of assets worth hundreds of crores. In one case involving the Associated Journal Limited and Young India, assets worth Rs 750 crore have been provisionally attached by the PMLA Adjudicating Authority. Additionally, properties valued at over Rs 230 crore have been attached in connection with a West Bengal teachers' job scam, including land parcels and a flat held in the names of Prasanna Kumar Roy and Santi Prasad Sinha. The ED's actions also extend to the alleged Bengal teacher recruitment scam, with properties worth Rs 365 crore attached. In another significant move, assets over Rs 150-crore linked to ex-Bengal minister Jyoti Priya Mallick and TMC leader Shankar Adhya have been attached in relation to a PDS 'scam' case. In the PDS scam, the ED has attached assets with a book value of Rs 50.47 crores, including 48 immoveable properties and two hotels, showcasing the extensive nature of the corruption and the agency's efforts to combat it.
