The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has intensified its crackdown on an ongoing illegal sand mining case, conducting day-long raids across 13 locations in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Delhi, targeting former Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Gayatri Prajapati's son among others. In a significant haul, the ED seized jewellery and coins worth Rs 2.41 crores, cash amounting to Rs 31.94 lakhs, five luxury cars including brands like Bentley and Mercedes, and digital devices along with documents linked to foreign bank accounts in London, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Sri Lanka. Concurrently, in Ranchi-Hazaribagh, the ED summoned former DSP Abhishek Prasad and others in connection with the illegal mining case, seizing cash and documents. Further, in Bihar, the ED conducted a raid at the premises of sand trader Krishna Mohan Singh in Arrah as part of the ongoing investigation into the sand mining case.
