Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri announced that Oil Marketing Companies are implementing eKYC Aadhaar authentication for LPG customers. This initiative aims to eliminate bogus accounts and prevent the fraudulent booking of commercial cylinders. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has issued a clarification on the biometric Aadhaar authentication process for LPG consumers. The government has started Aadhaar-based eKYC to address the issue of fake LPG gas connections. Hardeep Singh Puri also clarified the deadline for LPG eKYC compliance.
