Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri conducted a two-day official visit to Kathmandu, Nepal, from August 17 to 18, 2025. During the visit, Misri engaged in discussions with several key Nepalese leaders, including Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli, President Ram Chandra Poudel, Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, and Nepal Army Chief General Ashok Raj Sigdel. The talks focused on enhancing the multifaceted partnership between India and Nepal, emphasizing connectivity and development cooperation. Misri also handed over a formal invitation from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Nepalese Prime Minister Oli for a visit to India at a mutually convenient time. The visit was conducted at the invitation of Nepal's Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai. Additionally, Dr. Manoj Kumar Mohapatra was concurrently accredited as the next Indian Ambassador to Moldova during this period.
