However, the fundraising landscape has evolved, with secondary share sales playing a significant role in fueling these substantial funding rounds. Despite a cautious investor approach amid a reset in the tech funding ecosystem, the early-stage investment scene is gaining momentum with the emergence of micro venture capital firms and founder-led funds. Indian startups have raised $6.3 billion through 672 venture capital deals from January to July 2024, marking an almost 43% year-on-year increase in funding. Globally, venture capital activity reached $115.3 billion in the first half of 2024, a slight 2% decrease from the previous year, though the number of deals completed fell by 30% year-over-year.
