India's stock market has experienced significant corrections recently, primarily due to disappointing corporate earnings and foreign portfolio investor (FPI) outflows. In October, FPIs sold over Rs 94,000 crore in equities, while domestic mutual funds made net purchases exceeding Rs 92,000 crore, according to National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) data. The cash holdings of active equity mutual funds reached 4.91% of category assets, marking the highest level since May 2023. Analysts suggest that investors should focus on long-term strategies rather than being swayed by short-term fluctuations. Key stocks being recommended include SBI, Adani Total Gas, and GMR Airports, among others. The market outlook remains cautious, with expectations of continued volatility influenced by macroeconomic factors and upcoming central bank meetings.
