
Indian stock markets witnessed a significant decline as Sensex dropped by over 600 points, closing at 74,319.51, and Nifty fell below 22,600. Nifty Bank also saw a decline of 530 points, trading below 48,600. The market opened with a gap-down start, with Nifty opening below 22,700 and Sensex below 74,400. The downward trend continued, with Nifty breaching below 22,600 during intra-day trade. Nifty IT and Nifty Metal sectors fell by 2%, and 45 out of 50 Nifty 50 stocks were trading in the red. Sensex and Nifty have been falling for the fourth consecutive day due to negative cues from global markets.
