The statements conveyed condolences for the loss of life and property and reiterated Tokyo’s readiness to cooperate with the two South Asian nations in their recovery efforts. In New Delhi, South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun opened talks with Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar by expressing condolences for the “sudden flooding in Kashmir.” Jaishankar thanked Seoul for its solidarity and for condemning last month’s Pahalgam terror attack. The two ministers later discussed expanding cooperation in trade, manufacturing, semiconductors, clean energy, artificial intelligence and maritime security, agreeing to explore new opportunities to elevate bilateral ties.
