In a series of coordinated efforts by various enforcement agencies across India, significant seizures were made in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized 1.59 kg of cocaine valued at approximately Rs. 15 crore in Delhi, implicating two individuals, including a Nigerian national, around 22nd March. Concurrently, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Ahmedabad conducted search operations at six premises of Payment Aggregators in Bengaluru and Pune on 20th March, targeting merchant IDs associated with the Dani Data App. Mumbai Customs, part of the Airport Commissionerate, confiscated foreign currency, diamonds, and gold worth a total of Rs. 10.60 crore concealed in luggage and clothing across eight cases from 20-22 March. Additionally, local authorities in Maharashtra seized Rs. 23.7 crore in cash, 699 kg of drugs valued at Rs. 158 crore, and 17.5 lakh litres of liquor worth Rs. 14.8 crore. In Karnataka, enforcement actions led to the seizure of Rs. 15.78 crore in cash and liquor worth Rs. 23.37 crore, while police and other agencies in Madhya Pradesh confiscated materials valued at over Rs. 14 crore 22 lakh. Mumbai Police also apprehended 12 individuals in a drug bust worth over Rs. 3 crore.
