Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for multiple development projects worth approximately Rs 13,000 crore in Bihar, focusing on sectors such as power, road, health, urban development, and water supply. The inauguration took place in Gaya, Bihar, where Modi also flagged off two trains: the Amrit Bharat Express between Gaya and Delhi and the Buddhist Circuit Train between Vaishali and Koderma, aimed at boosting tourism and religious travel across key Buddhist sites. Among the projects inaugurated was the 8.15 km long Aunta–Simaria bridge on NH-31, including a 1.86 km six-lane bridge over the Ganga River, constructed at a cost exceeding Rs 1,870 crore, providing direct connectivity between Mokama in Patna and other regions. Modi's visit marked his ninth to Bihar in the past year and his 53rd overall, underscoring the central government's commitment to Bihar's development. The event was attended by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. Modi also participated in the Grih Pravesh ceremony, symbolically handing over keys to 12,000 rural beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)-Gramin and 4,260 beneficiaries under PMAY-Urban. The visit drew varied political reactions, with BJP leaders highlighting Modi's focus on Bihar's progress, while opposition figures criticized the visit amid ongoing political campaigns in the state.
