Reliance Industries shares experienced a significant decline, falling by 9.5% over the week, contributing to a broader market downturn. The stock has dropped approximately 14% from its high of Rs 3,217.90 on July 8, 2024. The market capitalisation of all listed companies on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) decreased by Rs 17.18 lakh crore over four sessions, with the total market cap standing at Rs 461.92 lakh crore as of the latest close. Nine of the top ten most valued firms, including Reliance Industries and HDFC Bank, collectively lost Rs 4.74 lakh crore in market valuation last week. Reliance Industries' valuation decreased by Rs 1,88,479.36 crore to Rs 18,76,718.24 crore, while HDFC Bank's market valuation dropped by Rs 72,919.58 crore to Rs 12,64,267.35 crore. Bharti Airtel also saw a notable loss, with its valuation down by Rs 53,800.31 crore to Rs 9,34,104.32 crore. Ola Electric's market cap fell below $5 billion, down 43% from its listing high. Additionally, shares of smallcap companies fell by up to 12% on the BSE.
