A series of cyber fraud incidents have surfaced, involving significant financial losses for victims across India. In one case, Rs 63 lakh was stolen from a senior citizen's SBI account, leading to the bank being fined Rs 97 lakh. Another incident involved a Bengaluru MNC product marketing head who was placed under 'digital arrest' for 10 hours and lost Rs 51 lakh to cybercriminals. In Hyderabad, a woman lost Rs 15 lakh after receiving a message from a fake SBI officer. Additionally, a courier scam in Bengaluru saw a man being cheated out of Rs 30 lakh by individuals posing as CBI officers, including a house help, an auto-rickshaw driver, and a chef.
