The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has introduced several regulatory changes aimed at enhancing market flexibility and investor protection. SEBI's new rules allow mutual funds to invest in overseas mutual funds with up to 25% exposure to Indian securities. Additionally, SEBI has proposed key changes for Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs) to further enhance market flexibility. SEBI has also passed an interim order against Embassy Office Parks Management Services, directing the suspension of its CEO, Aravind Maiya, due to professional incompetence and lack of integrity. SEBI's proposed changes to securitised debt instruments include Demat issuance and minimum investment requirements.
