According to a recent report from the Union Home Ministry, WhatsApp, Telegram, and Instagram have emerged as the leading platforms for cyber fraud in 2024. The report highlights that WhatsApp has received the highest number of cyber fraud complaints, with 43,797 reported incidents in the first three months of the year. This alarming trend has prompted government alerts to users of these platforms, emphasizing the need for increased vigilance against online scams. In response to the growing concerns about fraud, Telegram has introduced new features, including third-party account verification and enhanced message search filters, aimed at combating scams and improving user security.
