A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, near Poso early on August 17, 2025, injuring dozens of people. Initial reports indicated 29 injured, but this number later rose to 35 with two in critical condition. The earthquake also caused one fatality and damaged 45 houses, as well as local infrastructure including schools and churches. The quake was linked to the Tokararu fault, which also triggered a magnitude 5.8 tremor in the area.
