On August 25, 2025, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto awarded the Republic of Indonesia's honors to 141 figures from various sectors, including politics, culture, science, and business, at the State Palace in Jakarta. Among the recipients were former Armed Forces Commander General (Ret.) Wiranto, who received the Bintang Republik Indonesia Utama, and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, who was bestowed the Bintang Mahaputera Adipurna. Bahlil also announced the establishment of the new Mineral Industry Agency, which will oversee the development and state-controlled management of rare earth metals, marking a shift from open public management to direct government control. Other notable awardees included Secretary of Cabinet Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya and entrepreneur Haji Isam, both receiving the Bintang Mahaputera Utama; Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, recognized for his contributions to cultural preservation and politics; and scientist Carina Citra Dewi Joe, known for holding a vaccine patent. Additionally, Rachmawati Soekarnoputri, sister of former President Megawati Soekarnoputri, and Siti Hardjanti Wismoyo, sister of former First Lady Tien Soeharto and wife of a former military chief of staff, were honored with the Bintang Republik Indonesia Utama and Bintang Mahaputera Utama respectively. The President also appointed eight new ambassadors, including the Ambassador to the United States, and inaugurated heads of key national agencies such as the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT). State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi emphasized that the honors were awarded based on individual achievements rather than cabinet representation. President Prabowo highlighted the awards as a form of state recognition for dedication to the nation, particularly in economic fields.
