Apple has released critical security updates for its iOS and iPadOS systems, addressing actively exploited vulnerabilities. The updates, identified as iOS 17.4, patch four vulnerabilities, including two zero-day flaws, CVE-2024-23225 and CVE-2024-23296, which enhance kernel memory protection. These vulnerabilities, significant enough to prompt the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to add them and others exploited by Lazarus APT and involving Android Pixel and Sunhillo Sureline bugs to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog. Alongside these security enhancements, the update introduces a new feature called 'Stolen Device Protection' designed to improve security for lost or stolen devices and clarifies that these updates do not affect MacBooks.
