The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is set to fully launch an automated ransomware vulnerability warning program by the end of the year. This initiative, as stated by CISA Director Jen Easterly, aims to alert organizations about software vulnerabilities that are being exploited by ransomware gangs. The program has already shown effectiveness by securing over 850 vulnerable devices and issuing more than 2,000 alerts to potentially affected entities. Additionally, CISA encourages organizations to engage with their Ransomware Vulnerability Warning Pilot and Cyber Hygiene Vulnerability Scanning services to further reduce ransomware risks.
