Recent alerts from various users highlight a surge in online scams, particularly involving phishing attempts and account impersonation. CoinMarketCap issued a warning stating it will never initiate direct messages requesting funds, urging users to verify any suspicious communications. Additional warnings came from multiple accounts, including Binance, which provided tips to identify and avoid account selling scams. Users are advised to be vigilant against accounts impersonating known figures, with reports of scammers using fake profiles and emails to solicit sensitive information. Notably, accounts such as @XProfileHelp and @XBookmarkHelp have been flagged for fraudulent activities, prompting users to report these as fake. The overall message emphasizes the importance of caution and verification in online interactions to prevent falling victim to scams.
I used to follow someone whose account has now been taken over by @XBookmarkHelp, which is now using that person's account to DM me and claim I've broken some law and need to click a malicious link. Probably you too will want to report that account.
FYI: some scammer is running a fake version of my X account by adding an extra "n" at the end of the account handle. Please report it as a fake. https://t.co/y1KnN0tu6m
